Scholarships for Indian Females Pursuing an Education in Yoga

At Himalaya Yoga Valley, we are dedicated to promoting the expansion of yoga teaching by females in India, in line with our core value of Honouring the Source of Yoga. We believe that indigenous practitioners who often face marginalization from their own cultural resources should have the same access to teacher training programs as those from outside of India with stronger economic means- yoga should be accessible to everyone. To support this vision, we offer three fully subsidized places per year in Goa for Indian women who lack the economic means to pursue a career in yoga teaching.

Scholarship Details:

  • Location: Himalaya Yoga Valley, Goa
  • Subsidy: 100% subsidized teacher training
  • Programs: 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Programs
  • Number of Places: Three per year

Terms and Conditions:

  1. Eligibility: This scholarship is open to Indian females who demonstrate a genuine financial need and a strong commitment to pursuing a career in yoga teaching.
  2. Selection Criteria: Applications will be evaluated based on financial need, passion for yoga, and potential for contributing to the yoga community. We reserve the right to select candidates who align best with our mission and values.
  3. Inclusivity: We encourage applications from women of all backgrounds, including those from marginalized communities.
  4. Commitment: Recipients of the scholarship are expected to complete the entire training program and actively participate in all activities.
  5. Language Proficiency: While the training is in English and Sanskrit, basic proficiency in English is recommended to ensure comprehension.
  6. Application Deadline: Applications must be submitted by 3 months before the training date.
  7. Non-Transferable: The scholarship is non-transferable and must be used for the specified training program in Goa or Online.
  8. Post-Training Involvement: Scholarship recipients are encouraged to engage with their own community post-training, sharing their experiences and contributing to future initiatives.
