Do you want to get some time on the shalla floor in front of your peers, mentors and senior teachers from Himalaya Yoga Valley? This course is all about practical teaching experience, getting feedback, learning from your fellow students and being coached to find your unique inner teacher voice. This immersion has been exclusively designed by our team for the online teacher trainee who would like to complete the practical section of their training in person and for the graduate of any teacher training who wants to jumpstart back onto the path of teaching by joining the live teaching practicums module on our 200-Hour Training. It is also an excellent opportunity for those who are already teaching after completing online training and who now want to focus on in-person adjusting and practicums. It is also suitable for Himalaya Yoga Valley Grads wishing to get onto the path of teaching if they did not begin when they completed their training. 

HYV - Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training

Join us in Cork, Ireland this July for a hands on experience centered on developing your teaching skills and confidence, in a live setting, with a focus on expanding and reconnecting with your inner teacher.

The course includes the following:

  • Daily practicums and lead teacher feedback and coaching
  • Asana adjusting and alignment workshops
  • Practical hands-on adjusting time on the shala floor
  • Deepen and develop your own asana practice
  • Asana adjusting and alignment principles and workshops

  • Refresh your warm ups and sequence them intelligently and safely
  • Review class sequencing and explore classroom management scenarios
  • Massage techniques to connect with and deepen your students’ relaxation
  • Explore how we can use our asana practice to connect with the Chakras

  • Supported pair and group teaching experience with detailed lead teacher feedback and coaching

Asana Deconstruction

In these asana clinics, you will learn techniques to modify asana to make them more accessible, with hands-on physical adjustments to correct alignment and deepen both your own asana practice and that of your students. You will have the opportunity to practice asana adjustment techniques under the guidance of our teachers along with an exploration of advanced sequencing to bring variety and interest to your online and offline classes.

Asana & Practicums

This training includes a blend of teaching practicums where you will work in groups to teach your peers and receive feedback from your teachers. When you are not immersed in workshops and teaching practicums you will also be able to connect to your own practise with classes designed to support expansion and refinement of asana.

Morning Chanting & Pranayama

Your daily morning, chanting and pranayama session will help you to deepen and expand your practice on a subtle level. These morning sessions cleanse your spirit and prepare your mind and body for a day of exploration and education.

About Lalit

If you haven’t practised with Lalit already, this is the perfect opportunity to practice with one of the most experienced and intuitive teachers in the world. Lalit has been practising Yoga since the age of 7 when he entered traditional Yoga schools in India. Since then he has trained under some of the most respected masters of Yoga. 

Lalit blends his two backgrounds of Ashtanga and Iyengar yoga to form a teaching style that is dynamic and flowing but also places a strong focus on alignment and foundations.

Certification

If you are a student of Himalaya Yoga Valley's Online Academy you can complete your training in person with us during this 11 day course, after you have completed module A online. Upon completion you will receive your 200 Hour Yoga Alliance Certificate (provided you have completed module A).

For those of you joining us as graduates of a teacher training course from another school, upon completion of this immersion course you will receive certification for 100 hours of Continuing Education credits. This can be used towards career development hours for all yoga certification bodies.
